Serial daters frequently date lots of people and imply to each of them that "their" relationship is monogamous.
A serial dater enjoys using people for self gratification. They date multiple people and each usually thinks that she or he is the only person dating the serial dater when in actuality, they are one of many. A serial dater usually lies by omission.

I once dated a serial dater. We were living together and he'd drop me off at work and drive over to another woman's house for dinner. He'd spend the evening with her then pick me up at my job without mentioning a word about it. His friends knew all about it.
